we are a covid-free gpsl set in austin, tx. our application process is currently open and the steps to applying are below! our rules are simple: don't be dicks, respect boundaries, create all the ic drama you want but the second there's blurry ooc bullshit we reserve the right to toss you overboard. deal? ok moving on!

process
to apply, first finish reading these guidelines then comment our welcome post! make sure that you use ic usernames only, and follow the instructions in the post. your ic and ooc posts should both have 'date out of order' checked to avoid having them show up on the fp and to keep them pinned to the top of your journal. you do not need a highly detailed bio, but we all love getting to know each other's characters, so be sure to have at least the basics about them in your screened ooc post!

for your examples, please be sure to include at least three (3) writing samples, whether narratives or scenes.

if your application is approved, you will receive a welcome comment, and your username will be added to the friends button. we don't require ic intros, but to weed out DOA applicants, you will have 48 hours to make an ooc character introduction post in our sl comm or risk removal. if your application is denied, you will not receive a welcome comment, and your application will be deleted.

ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS
this is a gpsl, so activity is more relaxed! we do not require intros and instead try to ensure there is a steady mix of user and mod-posted interactive posts to the fp each week.

by the end of each month, you'll need to have dropped off your activity here. activity counts as one entry on the fp, with some further explanation below.

what counts as activity?

βœ” 1 interactive post to tejas OR your character's journal

βœ” 1 comments-disabled post (narrative, lyrics, et cetera) + consistent fp participation

you do not need to keep track of your comments, as the gpsl is small enough that the mods can monitor this for you, however if you're at all concerned about not being able to be consistently active on the fp, your safest bet is to make an interactive post. consistent participation doesn't mean you have to comment every single post, but it does mean that you comment a majority of them, and that your conversations typically last more than one or two comments. please be patient while we try out this new activity requirement, and feel free to give us feedback on how we can streamline it in the future!

characters who join on or after the 20th of the month will have their their activity requirement waived. extensions last for two weeks. hiatuses last through the end of the month, then mods will comment to ask whether you'd like to continue or lift your hiatus. removals will be done on the first or second of each month.

AGAIN, DON'T BE DICKS!
at no point will we be rejecting or prioritizing applications due to favoritism, however there are a number of writers in this community who do not respect basic boundaries and have harassed numerous people over the years, with firsthand experience and proof provided by members of the gpsl. if a current member of the gpsl comes forward with verifiable proof of ooc harassment or just generally inappropriate behavior, we reserve the right to remove the offending member and any of their secondary characters without warning.
